WHO AM I?

Akinyi Walkowa is an Humanistic -Existential Coach & Therapist, with a Masters of Philosophy in Executive Management Coaching from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.  She qualified as a psychotherapist  with a PGD at Thames Valley University in the UK (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited) more than 15 years ago.  She works with women in middle and top-level leadership within the private and public sector.  Akinyi is extensively experienced with a track record of delivering tangible results during roles for major non-profit international organizations such as UNICEF, UNWOMEN, Action AID International and DIFID. Proficient in human rights advocacy, women/children community empowerment strategies, research, policy development, Executive/Leadership Coaching &
 organizational assessment/development.  She is a founder member of Mama Na Dada International, which was set up to work with women and children refugees/asylum seekers in the UK and Kenya. Previously Executive Director of a foundation and an NGO before moving into full-time International Development Consultancy. Accustomed to working internationally across the African continent, including work in conflict areas. Displays a motivating, inspiring and influential leadership style: conveying positive messages and engaging effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

 Akinyi is currently a Doctorate (Action Research) Student  in Public Management (Peace & Conflict Resolution).
